Connecting Your Canon Printer to Wi-Fi Network
There are two methods of connecting your Canon printer to WiFi. There is the Standard Connection Method and the WPS Connection Method.
We will show you how to use both steps beginning with the Standard Connection Method. This is because not all printers have the WPS Connection. By the way, “WPS” stands for WiFi Protected Setup.
To find out if your printer has the WPS feature, look for a button labeled “WPS” on your printer. If you find one, then your printer supports this feature.
We recommend you choose the WPS connection method if it does.
Standard Connection — Method 1
Step 1: Turn On Your Printer
Locate the printer power button and press it to turn on your printer.
The wi-fi lamp flashes to indicate that your printer is on.
Step 2: Locate Your Printer’s Settings
On your printer, press the settings button. Use the arrow button to find device settings and press OK.
Step 3: Setup Wireless LAN
Use the arrow button again until you find the wireless LAN setup. Once you find it, press OK.
This will cause your Canon printer to begin to search for a WiFi network. Because of this, the printer’s lamp flashes quickly continuously.
Sometimes, searching might take so long that it won’t discover your WiFi network. If this is the case, do the following:
When the Wi-Fi network is not discovered during the search; press stop. This will lead you to the wireless LAN setup, precisely standard setup.
Then press OK. This will also lead you to step 4 just like the above search would.
